You finally booked your family session, yay! Now comes the hardest part: what to wear. Don’t worry, friend, I’ve got you. Choosing outfits doesn’t have to be stressful or expensive. With a few simple tips, you’ll look coordinated, comfortable, and timeless in your photos.
1. Start with a Color Palette, Not Matching Outfits
Gone are the days of everyone wearing white shirts and jeans (thank goodness). Instead, choose 3–4 colors that complement each other. Think neutrals with a few soft accent tones: like cream, sage, dusty blue, blush, or tan. These tones photograph beautifully and let you shine, not your clothes.
Pro tip: If you’re booking a Studio Cas session, I always recommend starting with one outfit you love. Like mom’s dress and building everyone else’s look around it.
